Asymptomatic<br \/>\n&#8211; Acute retroviral syndrome<\/li>\n<li>Clinical stage 1<br \/>\n&#8211; Asymptomatic<br \/>\n&#8211; Persistent generalized lymphadenopathy (PGL)<\/li>\n<li>Clinical stage 2<br \/>\n&#8211; Seborrheic dermatitis<br \/>\n&#8211; Angular cheilitis<br \/>\n&#8211; Recurrent oral ulcers (two or more episodes within 6 months)<br \/>\n&#8211; Shingles (common herpes)<br \/>\n&#8211; Recurrent respiratory tract infections &#8211; sinusitis, otitis media, pharyngitis, bronchitis, tracheitis, (two or more episodes within 6 months)<br \/>\n&#8211; Fungal nail infections<br \/>\n&#8211; Papular itchy dermatitis<\/li>\n<li>Clinical stage 3<br \/>\n&#8211; Hairy leukoplakia of the mouth<br \/>\n&#8211; Unexplained chronic diarrhea lasting more than 1 month<br \/>\n&#8211; Recurrent oral candidiasis (two or more episodes within 6 months)<br \/>\n&#8211; Severe bacterial infection (pneumonia, empyema, purulent myositis, bone or joint infections, meningitis, bacteremia)<br \/>\n&#8211; Acute necrotizing stomatitis, gingivitis or periodontitis<\/li>\n<li>Clinical stage 4 (*)<br \/>\n&#8211; Pulmonary tuberculosis<br \/>\n&#8211; Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (excluding lymphadenopathy)<br \/>\n&#8211; Unexplained weight loss (more than 10% within 6 months)<br \/>\n&#8211; HIV wasting syndrome<br \/>\n&#8211; Pneumocystis pneumonia<br \/>\n&#8211; Severe or radiologically confirmed pneumonia (two or more episodes within 6 months)<br \/>\n&#8211; Cytomegalovirus retinitis (with or without colitis)<br \/>\n&#8211; herpes simplex virus (HSV) (chronic or persistent for more than 1 month)<br \/>\n&#8211; Encephalopathy<br \/>\n&#8211; Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy<br \/>\n&#8211; Kaposi&#8217;s sarcoma and other HIV-related malignant neoplasms<br \/>\n&#8211; Toxoplasmosis<br \/>\n&#8211; Disseminated fungal infection (candidiasis, histoplasmosis, coccidioidomycosis)<br \/>\n&#8211; Cryptosporidiosis<br \/>\n&#8211; Cryptococcal meningitis<br \/>\n&#8211;
